Cities are both witnesses and protagonists of our history. They encapsulate cycles of creation, destruction, and rebirth. This project delves into cities as sedimented memories and traces of civilizations. Inspired by Nietzsche's concept of eternal return, these cycles are inevitable, unstoppable, and transformative. My sculptures aim to reflect this tension and the struggle between the ephemeral and the enduring.
As Heidegger observes, "Being reveals itself in the spaces we leave open." Thus, the void in the sculptures is not an absence but a container of energy that perpetuates time. These pieces seek to evoke in the viewer a reflection on their connection to the cities they inhabit and how these cities mirror the human condition.
